Bleeding Heart Flower Essence

Pacific Bleeding Heart flower essence, for our Hearts. For healing. For grief & mending Heart break. For remembering joy, love, and that life force that connects us to all of Creation. 

Bleeding Heart is the first Flower Essence I worked with many, many years ago. I was very early on in my ‘professional’ herbal + medical studies and navigating a lot of grief and heartbreak. Bleeding Heart found me that Summer, growing in the Mountains, on sidewalks, in a little herbal apothecary in a small town. They introduced me to Flower Essences {alongside Yarrow, what a beautiful pair!} & remembering the language we speak with our Hearts. Keeping our Hearts open despite heartbreak, trauma, grief. 

A few years back I was sitting with them in the Medicine garden, and noticed their insides ~  Heart strings! They look like the chordae tendineae in the Heart ♥️ I was in awe. They hold our Hearts, and may help us remember the ‘song’ we carry in our Hearts and that connection to the Land. Creation mirrored in our anatomy and the Earth/Bleeding Heart. The chords help our Hearts pump in a balanced way ~ so to me Bleeding Hearts also holds that balance, and helps us to remember it as well. Grief & beauty dancing together.

They may be supportive for that ache we feel in our Hearts, and palpitations related to that deep ache {always seeking medical care if experiencing unexplained Heart palpitations/pain}. Bringing more spaciousness to our chest, our breath & easing tension held in our Hearts. 

A personal story: Last year, 2022, I felt SO called to make a new Flower Essence with them as each place carries a unique vibration as well. Everyday they were calling. I had planned on going out on a specific day to make one, when I got a call that my Dad was going into emergency surgery for a ruptured aortic aneurysm - a literal Bleeding Heart. My Dad passed, and I noticed in a family member’s yard in a new home that evening there were Bleeding Heart planted :) The Medicines always find us, hold us, speak to us. This year it felt so sweet when they were blooming again. I crafted this essence with my little one, surrounded by Nettle, Cedar, Fir, Wild Ginger and an abundance of early Spring Sun! While home for my Dad’s one year passing anniversary my little one & I stayed at an Airbnb on our way home, guess who was there? {Bleeding Heart ;)}

I hope this essence brings feelings of ease, peace, and soothing to your Heart spaces. Remembering the joy that weaves with the grief, remembering the Love that weaves us to all living beings, to all of our relatives, remembering it is ok to be held & allow ourselves to receive that Love from Creation, the Land, ourselves & one another.

Work with Bleeding Heart: Flower essences are an intuitive Medicine. I give suggestions for dosages, but please feel free to work with them in ways that call you. 3-11 drops under the tongue, or in a glass of water. Taken 1-3 times a day, for 3-7 days. Notice any shifts, and pay attention to any changes over the 3 to 7 days. If no shifts occur, continue taking for another few days. From there, work with as needed, or during ritual work/meditation/new moon/full moon ceremonies. They may be combined with other flower essences, teas, or tinctures as you feel called. You can as work with Bleeding Heart as needed anytime you are feeling that ache, or grief in the Heart space. For Love, and Heart holding of any kind 💗
