Giwedin’anung{North Star}: Chaga + Birch Elixir

This Blend feels like coming home to yourself - it feels like the Land, the Stars, the Waters wrapping themselves around you - letting you know you are loved, you are here, you are needed on this Earth at this time, you are part of Creation. Reminding you of your original instructions, igniting your inner flame to burn with the Fire you have been gifted. Grounding & centering you into your path, even amidst chaos, returning to Center ♥

A starry clear August night along Moon River in Georgian Bay, among Bearberry, Juniper & Wild Blueberries - a Plant Medicine Mama & her little one gathered Medicines in the bush, with Love & gratitude for the Land, the Animals, Ancestors, and all of the beings gathered around. Anishinaabe & Mississauga territory.

A warm Fall day, the Same Plant Medicine person gathers among the Birch standing ones, the Wild Sarsparilla, the Bloodroot - gathering Chaga, and Wild Ginger with so much care. A deer in the distance, catching a glimpse, and bounding off.

And lastly, Calamus/Sweet Flag/Wiikenh, being gifted from the Earth - reminding us that Plant Medicines require patience, integrity, truth & reverence. That our trust in them directly correlates to our trust in Creator, our Trust in ourselves.

A recent addition to this blend, Ganoderma Tsugae, Reishi which grows on Hemlock, gathered with my little one Bear with Ancient Rocks of the so called "Canadian Shield" holding us.

Of course, there are medicinal benefits to this Elixir - potent immune support, anti-microbial, digestive support, anti-inflammatory, analgesic (pain relief), cough calming, warming, tonifying, detoxifying, building… but mostly, this Elixir is everything I’d ever want to share with you. A call to your Spirit. A deep honour to the Land & original people, past, present & future. Named in while living on Anishinaabe - Huron-Wendat - Haudenosaunee territories {name honouring place & people, where these Medicines held us}, and all those who've been here since time immemorial. A gratitude to the Nayaano-nibiimaang Gichigamiin {Great Lakes}, the Stone ones, and the Milky Way, for always guiding us Home.

WORK WITH GIWEDIN’ANUNG: Delicious as a treat directly from the spoon, or mixed in to Tonic or Sparkling water for an alcohol free mocktail.

Mocktail suggested recipe: 10mL per cup of Tonic water or non-alcoholic Ginger Beer, with some fresh ginger or cinnamon as a garnish. Add a few dashes of bitters.

Can also add 1oz of Bourbon to craft an herbal spirited cocktail. Sip with love & reverence, perhaps offering prayers & action oriented steps to connecting to the Land, your Ancestors, and supporting the original people of the Land as well.
