Lavandula Latte: Adaptogenic Elixir to focus + center

This gorgeous cosmic purple latte is one I’ve been working to perfect for *years* & I’m so excited to share it with you! A delicious blend of herbs to support anxiety, bring ease, focus, and come back to oneself. With Lavender, Purple Sweet Potato, Lion’s Mane, Tulsi, Tart Cherry and a touch of Kelp (not enough to taste, but enough to nourish).

Lavender is the main Medicines in this elixir ~ and the taste is present without being soapy or too intense. Of course, we all know Lavender as a potent nervine & ‘calming’ Herb. I love working with them when things are feeling especially overwhelming. They may help take the edge off, while not causing sleepiness.

Purple Sweet Potato lends it’s gorgeous purple hue to this blend! However it is also medicinal, supporting the Spleen meridian in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and nourishing Qi (or energy). Purple Sweet Potatoes are high in anthocyanins, giving the gorgeous colour. Anthocyanins may support mood & increase cognitive function (memory, processing).

Tulsi helps to bring that balance of focused energy, centering. They are an adaptogen, and are often worked with to support overall vitality, as well as mental & physical wellbeing. They are worked with not just to reduce anxiety, but to bring us back into presence that allows us to truly focus on the past in front us. Without ruminating and swirling thoughts.

Lion’s Mane is a beautiful Medicinal Mushroom that helps support the nervous system - research shows it may help stimulate nerve regrowth. Lion's Mane has also been shown to potentially reduce mild anxiety, and protect against dementia. They are often worked with for cognitive support, including boosting memory. They also may help protect the mucosal lining, for optimal gut health. With some studies on their use for ulcers.

Kelp had to be included in this one, bringing overall nourishment & supporting us in flowing with what life brings. Kelp contain constituents called fucoidan that may help to also fortify the immune system, something that is often needed during times of heightened stress.

Tart Cherry was the last addition & rounds out the flavour so much! Tart Cherry is often worked with for improving sleep as they have naturally occurring melatonin (in smaller amounts than a standard melatonin dosage) and tryptophan; however, it won’t make you drowsy! It more so helps to regulate your circadian rhythm so that you receive better sleep. There are some studies showing that Tart Cherry may help to improve mental focus & reduce mental fatigue.

Lavandula elixir can be worked with anytime of day, especially during times of heightened stress, or for a mental boost + focus. Or during times you know there may be more anxiety & an amped up nervous system. My child has been loving it! It also makes a beautiful evening ritual. Inviting the body to relax, without causing sedation. Calling us back to ourselves. Presence.

How to work with Lavandula Adaptogenic Elixir: 2-3 tsp per 1 cup milk/milk alternative. Experiment with how much or little you prefer, I have been enjoying 3tsp per cup coconut milk with a touch of maple syrup :)

Delicious as a hot or iced ‘latte’ mixed with your favourite milk or milk alternative. I love it with full fat coconut milk! It has a very small amount of Date sugar, add sugar/syrup of choice for a bit more sweetness! The colour of Lavandula elixir may shift depending on what type of milk is used, photos are with full fat coconut milk (no fillers or binders). I made it with whole milk as well & it was a beautiful, softer lilac colour.

Some sedimentation is normal, this one has a smooth mouthfeel, no grittiness! If sedimentation occurs just swirl to re-incorporate :)
