Pumpkin Spice Adaptogenic Elixir
OKOSIMAAN/SHANTLU {PUMPKIN} SPICE ADAPTOGENIC + MUSHROOM ELIXIR
Evoking the abundance & warm soft cozy glow of harvest Season, this Pumpkin Spice blend features adaptogenic roots & mushrooms with warming spices & Pumpkin, from many of our Ancestor's medicines. Supporting the Immune system {vital especially between seasons as we near the Winter Solstice} & boosting overall energy levels. Reducing fatigue. May be supportive for burnout recovery, and prevention. Deep nourishment. Grounding Medicine.
Our bodies crave this warmth as we are in transitional seasons, or liminal spaces. This is protective for our immune systems, as well as helps promote smooth flow of energy in our bodies. Especially important for the sacral energy centers {Kidneys, womb, creative energy centers especially} ~ keeping warm, keeping energy flowing smoothly!
Our blend is a bit different from most you’ll find in health food stores as it also includes Adaptogens & Medicinal Mushrooms, with real Pumpkin to bring vitality, boost immune system & mitigate fatigue many of us may be feeling.
Made with real Pumpkin {high in Vitamin A, C & K, as well as Copper and Fiber; supporting Immune function, fertility and Blood building} and Organic Maple Syrup. The Spirit of Maple, the sweetness, abundance & reminders to not take Creation for granted. To remember our responsibilities here, and walk/move gently.
Next Turkey Tail, Astragalus & Maca were blended with Organic Vanilla & delicious warming spices. Fortifying our Kidneys, our Immune Systems, our Nervous systems. Helping to balance hormones, cortisol levels, blood sugar & strengthening the Lung.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine the Lung is paralleled with the Season of Fall, and the emotion Grief. Also with the Large Intestine. Helping us to remember the Sacred act of letting go, of change, release, of rest as well as reciprocity. Taking in & receiving the nourishment we need, *discerning* what is meant for us, what is needed, while releasing, letting go, creating boundaries around what might not be supportive for us at this time. What might be time to release. Whew. Potent.
Overall beautiful for supporting vitality, effects of burn out or overwhelm, and deficiency. <3 {and just super delicious!}
INGREDIENTS:
Pumpkin, Maca, Turkey Tail, Astragalus, Maple Syrup, Cinnamon, Clove, Allspice, Nutmeg, Cardamom, Ginger, Vanilla
WORK WITH PUMPKIN SPICE:
Delicious as a latte with your fave nut mylk or added to coffee to make a Pumpkin Spice latte. Add 2-4tsp per 12oz liquid {coffee, oat mylk, cashew mylk, latte, etc.}. It is gently sweetened, but you can choose to add more to taste. Also delicious iced! I prefer 1-1.5 TBSP of Pumpkin Spice with just a little extra Maple syrup for a sweeter treat.
You can also add to yogurt, oats, bliss balls (think date, walnut, fig, pumpkin seeds, etc), smoothies, pancake mix ~ wherever you might want some Pumpkin flavor & medicines.
*May settle a bit to the bottom of your mug due to the Roots + real Pumpkin. You can swirl to distribute as you drink, or at the end just add a bit of mylk or water to ensure you receive the Medicines that may have settled.
ABOUT THE HERBS:
MACA is a building adaptogen, Indigenous to so called South America, to the high Andes, Peru. They are Yin building, supporting the divine feminine (within all genders) as well as divine masculine (Yang) by holding the Yin. They may be supportive for low energy, anemia, decreased libido, fertility, anxiety, fatigue, stamina, mental strength etc. They also may be supportive for balancing reproductive hormones, as well as cortisol. And may be indicated for irregular menses. As is the case of many Plant allies, Maca is high in many vital minerals including zinc & iron.
TURKEY TAIL is a beautiful Medicinal Mushroom. I often find them growing near Moss on cool Autumn days, warmed by the Sun. They are one of my favorite Mushroom kin. They are potent anti-microbial, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory & immune supportive (modulating) kin. To me they hold nourishing & grounding energy. Reminding us our our Sacred connection to all of Creation, tapping into the Earth Matrix & grids of Harmony, of Cosmic wisdom rooted here on Earth. Healing old patterns & paradigms. Re-coding, and shifting perspectives for a shift in collective consciousness to a more unified & healed place. In TCM they also enter the Lung, supporting this precious organ during it’s aligned Season. Helping strengthen our breath & overall vitality, energy & processing of any stagnant emotions. As with many ‘Lung’ supportive Plant medicines, they also may be supportive for gut health (remembering that the gut is a major part of the immune system!) & keeping a harmonious balance of gut flora/‘good’ bacteria. You can read more about there here.
ASTRAGALUS is also an adaptogenic kin, and another favorite especially during transitional times & shoulder Seasons. They act deep on the Immune system, offering nourishment, vitality & acting as a {Spleen} Qi tonic. They are anti-microbial, Liver protective (hepatoprotective), a Heart tonic & Immune tonic. I love working with them for fatigue & overall depletion/low energy/vitality. They strengthen the Lungs and also offer protection through their action on the Immune system. They typically are worked with as a preventative Medicine, and stopped during an acute cold or flu. Also beautiful as a Heart tonic & may also support Kidney + Liver function. Astragalus also feels tied to our Ancestors, our breath as Vital Force, Wind element, as well as Kidneys (our overall *essence,* which can become depleted after pregnancies/pregnancy loss/illness/over work/stress/burnout etc)… Astragalus is gently sweet too which is so soothing. Astragalus has also been shown to potentially balance cholesterol levels & improve cardiovascular health. They may also help improve insulin resistance (helpful for so many conditions including type 2 diabetes, fibroids, PSOS)
